Charlie Kirk's Assassination Was a Turning Point in the Course of World History

Updated: Sep 29

On 10 September, just a few hours after The Epic Story of 1780–1783 was published, the world came to a standstill. A gunshot rang out from the campus of a university in Utah...and just like that, the world changed. Charlie Kirk, a young father, husband, conservative activist, and lover of Christ was assassinated with a bullet to his neck; shot dead by the left because he had the courage to debate their ideologies.

This wasn't simply a case of murder; it was an attempt from enemy forces to silence the voice of truth—but in doing so, they awakened a million voices in his place, standing up for truth and boldly declaring, "I am Charlie Kirk".

If you're not a fan of politics, that's alright—I get it. But this was not simply politics. The unique thing about Charlie Kirk is that he wasn't just assassinated, he was martyred. He was a strong Christian and openly acknowledged Jesus as his saviour. When once asked how he'd like to be remembered, he replied, "I want to be remembered for courage for my faith." You might not be into politics, but don't you agree with that? Don't we all want to be remembered for that, too? I woke up at 3:30am to watch his memorial service live on Monday morning, and that's exactly how Charlie Kirk was (and will forever be) remembered.

Viewers—including me, my family, spectators in the stadium, even the SkyNews reporters—were all affected to the point of tears by the powerful legacy of faith that Charlie Kirk left. It was heart-stirring to see significant members of the US Government paying their personal respects to Charlie Kirk, giving a tribute to his legacy and impact, and most powerfully of all, openly and fully acknowledging God Almighty. This mighty list includes Marco Rubio, Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Donald Trump Jr, Vice President JD Vance, and President Donald J. Trump himself. Hearing every single one of these hugely influential figures openly giving praise and worship to Christ in this moment was undeniably one of the most deeply moving things that could have taken place.

Even more touching, however, was the address given by Charlie’s wife, Erika Kirk. She spoke with immense love and Godly power; displaying a beautiful example of Christ's amazing grace by publicly forgiving her husband's killer to the endless applause of a full stadium of supporters who wept at the sound of her words:

That man; that young man… I forgive him.

There wasn’t a single dry eye as she gave her testimony with tears down her cheeks.

I forgive him because it is what Christ did and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate,” she continued. “The answer we know from the gospel is love, and always love: love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.

After his own touching tribute, President Trump invited Erika back to the stage, where they stood together and embraced as the entire stadium rose to its feet in applause. Along with Erika’s declaration of forgiveness, this was a touching moment that left no dry eye as people looked on. (If you have not watched it, I encourage you to do so. It's worth every single minute. Find each clip on the TPUSA YouTube Channel).

Erika Kirk has risen up as the new CEO of Turning Point USA and has promised to continue the epic legacy that Charlie started in founding the youth conservative organisation, and she has all my love and support. To learn more, visit TPUSA.com.

Whether you follow politics or not, you can’t deny that the events in the weeks following Charlie Kirk’s assassination have been a turning point in the course of history. Millions of people, young and old, have risen up to boldly take a stand for what Charlie stood for: truth, life, and justice. On the weekend of the assassination, protesters took over the streets of London to stand strong for unity, free speech, and immigration reform, as well as using it as an opportunity to show their immense support as they mourned the death of Charlie Kirk from across the Atlantic. Similarly, in Sydney on 11 September there was a candlelight vigil for supporters to pay their respects to the fallen conservative hero, and to pray for the people affected. Most of all, there has been a worldwide revival for the Christian faith. People are picking up the Bible for the first time, praying for the first time, families are going to church for the first time, and speaking up when they would have otherwise remained silent. People who barely even knew Charlie Kirk or his cause are in tears following his death. This is all thanks to the profound impact Charlie Kirk had on society and how Christ used him to change lives.

This revival is real, and it’s happening right now.

The entire memorial was a phenomenal, breathtaking event that brought tears to people’s eyes as even America’s most powerful leaders boldly proclaimed the name of Jesus.

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard quoted from 2 Corinthians 5 in testimony to draw on the Lord’s courage (listen at 4:58). American Vice President JD Vance admitted, “I have talked more about Jesus Christ in the past two weeks than I have my entire time in public life” (listen at 8:53). And US Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave one of the strongest explanations of the Gospel I have ever heard (listen at 5:52).

This is the government of the most powerful country in the world, and they’re all giving praise and glory to the one true God Almighty.

John 12:24 is a quote from Jesus: “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

Charlie Kirk was shot at approximately 12:24pm in Utah on 10 September. Since then, millions of seeds have been produced, and they are all around the globe, waiting for their moment to rise up and continue Charlie’s legacy of faith, family, and freedom.

Charlie Kirk 1993-2025

Charlie Kirk’s mission was to raise up the next generation of patriots in America and across the world; to teach them to harness the power of words, not actions, to solve conflicts. The reason he travelled primarily to universities and colleges was because he knew that history matters deeply, and by impacting the people of the future, he could change the history of the future.

Similarly, the point of Epic Patriot Camp was to train up the next generation of patriots and authors to continue telling the epic story of America’s founding history.

The fact that The Epic Story of 1780–1783: Independence was published on the same day as Charlie Kirk’s assassination is no coincidence in my eyes. When we set 10 September as the publication date, I believe God watched with a knowing smile. When the devil silenced one voice proclaiming liberty, a collection of new voices rose to take the baton and continue the race.

Charlie Kirk might be gone from this earth, but his legacy is alive and breathing with a patriotic fire. His mission lives on in the hearts of everyone who is willing to stand up and fight for the cause. Already, the "This Is the Turning Point" Tour has exploded with great success as over 2,000 students filled the theatre in Minnesota, where they sang "God Bless the USA". And that's just the beginning of something much, much bigger.

If you made it to the end of this email, I thank you and I congratulate you. Like I mentioned earlier, this isn’t the normal sort of newsletter I’d send, but at this time I deem it fully necessary. I hope these words encourage you as we step into some very exciting times. Keep praying for your loved ones and keep looking forward to what lies ahead.

The devil overplayed his hand (again), and now he’s having to face the consequences as God does something HUGE with another Great Awakening.
