Virtual Epic Patriot Camp

Six Epic Weeks, One Epic Book

Don't miss this EPIC opportunity to return one last time and complete the Epic Story of America trilogy!

Virtual Epic Patriot Camp 2025: Independence is a reunion exclusively for camper alumni from 2022 and 2023. Friends and past campers Christopher J. Watt and Ella Quill will lead returning writers through a 6-week online historical writing course focussed on writing the story of American Independence in 1780–1783. Campers will put into practice what they learnt in previous Epic Patriot Camps to research vital American history and write historical fiction. As well as receiving personalised feedback and critique on their writing assignments from the authors and fellow teammates, they will also get insider access and experience in how to publish a book; from the editing and formatting stages to proofing and publishing.

Campers learnt the ropes in 2022 and polished their work in 2023. Epic Patriot Camp 2025 is the coming-of-age opportunity to put their work into practice and showcase their maturing independence!

Award-winning historical fiction authors Jenny L. Cote and Libby McNamee hosted Virtual Epic Patriot Camps 2022 and 2023.

In total, over thirty-five epic campers joined these events from across the United States, D.C., and in Australia. For the four weeks of online camp, these epic young people assumed the identity of, and researched, a Patriot, Loyalist, or foreign Sympathiser who impacted the history of the American Revolution. Weekly sessions consisted of writing presentations from Jenny and Libby, and surprise guest appearances including historian Bruce Mowday, and colonial reenactors Mark Schneider and Richard Schumann.

The results were two published books in the Epic Story of America series, written by the campers themselves, and from the perspectives of their Revolutionary characters. Celebratory book signing events were hosted at Yorktown in 2022 and 2023 which made the experience come alive even more. Many campers stayed in touch after Camp, forming incredibly strong and close-knit friendships that will last a lifetime.

History’s future is always dependent on the next generation, and from where I sit in this empty nest watching them fly, the future looks very bright indeed.
