Designing your cover
Despite the idiom, everybody judges a book by its cover. Book covers are the first impression you leave on potential readers. They have the power to intrigue people... or repulse them.
That is why it is so important to design the cover well.

At The Squire, we take book cover designing seriously. We offer a wide range of cover designing styles to suit many genres, while allowing the author to still have full control over what they want.
Know what you want.
Before you begin the design journey, you need to know exactly what you want for your cover, and how you're going to publish your book. Consider these questions:
- Are you publishing as a paperback, ebook, or both?
- Will you consider hardback?
- How will your physical cover wrap around the spine to the back?
- In what genre is your novel, and how will that be incorporated in the cover?
- Do you need personalised illustrations (eg. an illustration of a character)?
- Will you directly hire an illustrator for these?
Once you have your answers to these questions, you're already a big step towards having an eye-catching book cover.
