About
Christopher Watt was born on a cold autumn morning in Johannesburg, South Africa, and lived there for many years before his family moved to southeastern Australia in 2015. Growing up around the city, on farms, and surrounded by mountains, he has always had a fondness for grand landscapes and intricate settings - something he endeavours do include in the tales he pens.

Surrounded by books, literature, and stories from a very young age, Christopher's always been inspired by the works of others to produce something of his own at that same level.

"Books are known as the entrance to another world; they're an escape from the everyday mundane. I know I'm reading a good book when there's a part of me inside that longs to be in that world myself. And if I can read novels that do that to me, I don't see why I can't do the same for others."

Christopher wrote his first "proper" story during English class when he was eight. Stubbornly refusing to adhere to the simple instructions, he instead wrote a story in which two dinosaurs and his music teacher embarked on a daring adventure.

Throughout his later years Christopher was inspired to one day be a writer. At the age of eleven he and a friend decided to co-author their own How To Train Your Dragon fanfiction. After a ridiculous amount of planning and new ideas, this story eventually became its own entity, and known to them as 'Rise of the Dragon-Warriors'. It provided a fine opportunity to get deeper into the world of writing and discover what the process of being an author looked like.
In June 2022 Christopher joined Virtual Epic Patriot Camp, an online writing program run by the award-winning authors Jenny L. Cote and Libby McNamee. They served as mentors to him and the twenty-four other aspiring writers as the program worked on researching significant characters in the American Revolutionary War. In September 2022 their work was published in the anthology, The Epic Story of 1776: 25 People, 13 Colonies, & 1 War.

The success of Virtual Epic Patriot Camp was so great that the following year it was held again, and in September of 2023 book two in the planned trilogy was published as The Epic Story of America: 1777-79: Trials, Turning Points, and Triumphs.

Christopher, now utilising his pen name 'Christopher J. Watt', was given the responsibility to lead the other writers in editing, proofing, and marketing the novel. He helped produce the official trailer for The Epic Story of 1777-79, and assisted in the formatting of the manuscript and cover design.

Since then he has been busy working on his own projects and broaden his writing capacity for future use, including setting up a blog and a publishing & design business. He has hopes to study journalism and law at university, as well as expand his knowledge and experience in the graphic design and publishing world.

Christopher J. Watt will be leading Virtual Epic Patriot Camp 2025 alongside fellow author Ella Quill, with the plans for publication of the third and final book in the Epic Story of America trilogy taking place in September 2025. In the meantime Christopher continues to work on other projects of his own for the future.
